You will be developing hosted software for the telecom industry using Perl, Linux, Apache, Oracle, and Javascript. You will be part of a team developing new features, including updating the UI architecture and integrating AJAX functionality where appropriate.
Switch Management is a 10-year old San Francisco-based telecom software company known for its innovative and award-winning telecom billing products, including WebCDR and RADIUS ASP. We have an immediate opening in our R&D department for a multi-talented individual. We're a small, growing company that uses Linux, Perl, Apache, and Oracle to make order out of telecom chaos. We specialize in processing large volumes of telecom data and computing the inter-carrier settlement payments for international telecommunications companies.
We currently have a large, happy, and growing list of global companies as clients and a list of programming projects that need to be completed. Knowledge of the telecommunications industry is helpful but not required.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong software development skills: requirements, architecture, design, implementation, and maintenance.
- 4-year Computer Science, Math, or related degree, or equivalent experience.
- Very strong Perl programming background.
- Database skills (Oracle a plus).
- Web application development skills.
- Perl UI tools experience (Mason, Template::Toolkit, Catalyst, or similar).
- Light Linux sysadmin abilities.
Professional
- Excellent spoken and written English. This position requires direct customer interaction for requirements gathering and application support.
